Perham Area Community Center Fit-Up
June 6th - NEW Fitness Area Opening
During the week of May 30-June 3rd, we may see some of our cardio, weight, and machine equipment become unavailable as it moves to its new home. We are hoping that by June 6th, all equipment will be moved, and we will begin entering through the back enterance at this time. We are excited to track the progress of this!
June 27th - Field House CLOSING
During the month of July we will be completing some final updates and revisions on our Field House Gym. To make sure this goes smoothly we will close the field house on June 27th, and hopefully reopen before the school year begins.
May 9th, Pool Opening
We are excited to reopen the pool on May 9th for the start of our swim lessons. We should be able to open the pool on this day at normal lap swim time, 6:15am. Please check back for any changes. All scheduling for the pool will be posted on the aquatics schedule.
Summer 2022 - Fieldhouse Closure and Play Land Completion
The Fielhouse is expected to be closed beginning July 27th & re-opening at the end of August as they work on installing new heating and air conditioning (yay!!). The Play Land is expected to be done by end of summer/early fall as well as Child Watch area.
April 1st-Sept 1st 2022 - Front Desk, Lobby & Parking Lot
Expected time of front lobby demo & remodel, entryway and new parking lot. Temporary entrance will be in the back side of the PACC, across from the new HUB facility. Parking will be available.
Fall-Winter 2022 - Therapy Pool
The completion of the therapy pool is expected sometimes by the end of 2022.
November 1st, 2021 - Locker Room Remodel Complete
Locker rooms are now open, working showers and toilets, and lockers are in place for use.
May 1st, 2021-April 1st, 2022 - Expected Closures
Closed areas: Racquetball Courts, Walking Track and Back Gym for construction. There is a track in the Fieldhouse that can be used for walking/running during times the gyms are not in use or very busy. Please check the Fieldhouse schedule under the ‘schedules’ tab.
September 7th - Aquatics Center Opening
The Aquatics Center will re-open for lap swim, adult swim, water fitness and family open swimming. The whirpool and wading pool are also open. At this time, the sauna is unavailable due to a delay in parts needed.
The updated locker rooms will be available to change and shower, however the lockers themselves, as well as the benches have been delayed until the end of September or early October. There are tables and chairs as well as temporary hooks on the walls for belongings. You should leave valuables at home or in your vehicle as you cannot secure/lock them at this time. We advise carrying your bag with you as you move about the facility. The PACC is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

PACC Fit-up Project Update/Donation Requests
This is a very exciting and historic time for the Perham Area Community Center. After years of planning with the help of hundreds of stakeholders, we are poised to take the PACC to a new level through the PACC Fit up Project. There have been many ups and downs over the last few years, but we are happy to say we are moving forward with the project.
The project will begin in April 2021 so the existing pool upgrades will be complete by August 2021. Included with this letter you will find a copy of the latest plans for the project. The plans include:
- Child’s playland
- Child watch area
- Therapy pool
- Expansion of fitness areas
- Outdoor gym space
- Senior fitness area
- 2nd floor bathrooms
- Remodel of the PACC lobby
There are also structural and mechanical changes being made to the building that will allow the PACC building to operate more efficiently, freeing up funds in the operation budget to be put toward future betterment of the PACC.
Your donation will help ensure that all components of the project detailed above are included in the final plans.
In an effort to secure financing for the Fit Up and take the project to bid by the end of January, all funds/pledges must be received by December 31, 2020.

Why does the PACC need improvements?
Like any business, the PACC has an operating budget based on services that are wanted and/or needed now and well into the future. The board conducted strategic planning in 2016 to address the future of the PACC including changes, improvements and cash flow. That strategic planning process resulted in a community survey and the proposed plan is a direct response to the survey results. Citizens requested more workout space, and additional programming and family activities. Secondly, our facility is showing its age and needs mechanical and structural upkeep. Just like a house, the PACC needs repairs that occasionally exceed planned expenses. Finally, the PACC needs to add services that will help attract members, sustain operations and improve our community. The PACC will continually evaluate opportunities to add aquatics features, therapy services, fitness facilities and other offerings to deliver on our mission to build healthier lives in our community.
